Card 1 Art Fromme

The first graded PSA card that goes into the books is a Piedmont Art Fromme of the Cincinnati Reds. I got this PSA graded VG-3 card for $27.09. I have found that most cards are in the following price range (for common cards):

PSA-1  $18-30
PSA-2  $20-35
PSA-3  $27-45
PSA-4  $45-65

The Very Good PSA-3 or Good PSA-2 seems to be about the sweet spot for affordability. I would love to be able to afford higher quality cards but the 2s and 3s have good eye appeal and are somewhat affordable. Collecting 520 cards will be very difficult at this price point but going the route of higher quality cards would be almost impossible.

Graded Monster Stats:
Basic Set:           1 of 520
Fromme card       $27.09
Total Cost            $27.09

1909-11 T206 White Borders

As of late I have found myself more and more intereseted in the T206 tobacco baseball card set. There are several websites out there that are sure to spark just about anyone's interest. With hours of reading behind me and my first cards arriving in the mail I wanted a way to record my progress and here we are. My first card was a raw Harry Lumley, it is a worn little card but I may have enjoyed that 100+ year old card more than any other I have owned.

Here is a short list of the websites that have shown me the way:

A special thanks to members of net54baseball, a group that has been extremely receptive and helpful with all my newbie questions.

My first card to arrive in the mail... A raw $9 card from EBay:
